Who would your character most appreciate receiving a letter from? A beloved author? An admired celebrity? Someone who has passed on, but who they wish they could hear from?
Write a letter from that hero to your character. Maybe they know your character from afar, or maybe your character has written to them asking for advice. Maybe someone has told them about your character. You decide on the scenario, and see what wisdom this hero may have to share with your character. After you write the letter, consider how your character might react, and what you can learn about them from their reaction.
