In some stories, humor is used so often that the book can be categorized in the humor genre. Even if you prefer your story to remain more serious, it can be fun to include a humorous scene to lighten things up or to show another side to a character.
Think about ways you could add some humor into your work in progress. Could you add a slapstick scene with lots of physical mishaps? Could you add a character who is always pulling pranks or making jokes? Then write a scene with your favorite idea. You might decide to include this scene in your story or not.
